Bozeman is a small city in Gallatin County, Montana in the southwestern portion of the state. The city is named for John M. Bozeman, who established the important Bozeman Trail in the mid-19th century. With a population of around 45,000, the city is the fourth-largest in Montana. It has also grown rapidly since 2010.

Since the 1980s, Bozeman has experienced a period of growth. It has expanded from the sixth largest to the fourth largest city in Montana. This growth is credited to the quality of life, scenery and nearby recreation. It is projected that Bozeman may pass Great Falls as the third largest city by 2025.

Economy

Bozeman’s largest employers include Montana State University, ILX Lightwave, Quantel USA, RightNow Technologies and Simms Fishing Products. The city also houses non-profits organizations the Greater Yellowstone Coalition, Human Resource Development Center and Eagle Mount.

Attractions

Some of the cities’ attractions include the Montana Arboretum and Gardens, Museum of the Rockies, American Computer Museum, the Rialto theater, Bridger Bowl Ski area, and the Gibson Guitar Factory. These combined with the surrounding mountains and other natural attractions make Bozeman popular among both residents and visitors.
