Colchester is a city in Vermont slightly north of Burlington, the most populous city in the state. With a population of 17,067 in 2010, Colchester is the fifth-most populous municipality in Vermont. It’s also a significant educational and military location.

The city is home to Saint Michael’s College, a small, private, Roman Catholic, liberal arts college. Colchester also houses campuses for the Southern New Hampshire University and Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
The public school district serves around 2,200 students. It administers one high school, one middle school, and three elementary schools. Colchester High School houses the award-winning Colchester Theatre Company.
Colchester is located along Lake Champlain and to the west of the Green Mountains. These afford plenty of natural attractions around the city. Additionally, nearby Burlington has a developed city center with nightlife, restaurants and other attractions.
